 Sé Cathedral

In 1913 the construction of the Cathedral began, as it is today, by the German Maximilian Emil Hehl. The temple was inaugurated on January 25, 1954, in celebration of the 4th centenary of the city of São Paulo, still without the two main towers.

The cathedral is one of the five largest neogothic temples in the world.

The first version of the church was installed in 1591 when the Tibiriçá chief chose the land where you find the first temple of the city.

In 1745 the "Old Cathedral", as it was called, was elevated to cathedral category. So, in the same year, he began the building of the second matrix of the Cathedral, in the same place as the previous.
In 1911, the two temples were demolished to make room for the extension of Cathedral Square and finally to the current version of the cathedral.

The cathedral also has a crypt open to visitors, opened in 1919. With thirty mortuaries, it maintains to the present day, the sarcophagi of bishops and archbishops, and stores the remains of Tibiriçá chief, the first citizen of Piratininga, and the priest Feijo.

We also find, right in front of Ground Zero. The small marble monument in hexagonal shape, built in 1934. It brings a map of roads departing from Sao Paulo in direction of other states.

                                 LADEIRA PORTO GERAL

We visited São Paulo downtown and I will comment on Ladeira Porto Geral:
Located on a slope that originated it´s name “Ladeira Porto Geral”, also it now has a lot of stores and some are illegal on the street. In the past, Ladeira Porto Geral was a place like a port where products were negotiated. Now this place became a popular market where millions of people go to buy all kinds of products.

TEA VIADUCT

It is a very important place because a river passed under it. It also has a monument showing two horses, as the portuguese passed the river by horse and this is one of the most important places of São Paulo.

It was raining, cold, cloudy… I played videogame, watched videos on YouTube…I wanted to have traveled to Bahia, to see my grandmother. The best thing of my vacation was that I stayed with my family.

Largo São Francisco

In broad settled in the 1640s the San Francisco Convent, giving rise to one of the most expressive and old sets of the religious city of São Paulo architecture. The three buildings that make up the whole - the Faculty of Law, the Church of St. Francis and the Third Order of the Church of Penance - were part of a small farm, whose demarcation must have been established in 1642.

By 1800, the land in front of the convent was called by Paulist’s from Largo do Capim, due to the large amount of this herb on site. From 1828, the convent premises were occupied by the Faculty of Law of São Paulo. The land in front of the college came to be called Largo Legal Course.
From the mid-nineteenth century, the square became known by its current name: Largo de São Francisco.

Martinelli Building

Martinelli Building was the first high building built in São Paulo. It has 24 floors. Giuseppe Martinelli came to Brazil from Italy. Befiore that, he lived in Rio de Janeiro. He decided to build the tallest building in Latin America. He wanted the largest building, He couldn't stop building more floors. When they got to 24 floors the government stopped him building more floors because he didn´t respect the laws. But he managed to convice that it was safe and built one more floor. His objective was to build 30 floors.
In 1934 the building had trouble with money and he needeed to sell it. In 1975 Olavo (president at the time) bought the building and reformed it with modern programs.
When we were on the top we could see all of the town. It was cool and a little scary.

Sé Cathedral
The Sé catedral is very important and the biggest cathedral in São Paulo. There wasn't anyone speaking English there. There's some important cripts with some important peoplein them. It was a very nice study.
In 1913 it began the construction of the Cathedral as it is today, made by the German Maximilian Emil Hehl,Professor of Architecture at the Polytechnic School. The temple was inaugurated on January 25, 1954,in commemoration of the 4th centenary of the city of São Paulo, still without it's two main towers.

The São Francisco Law School
The São Francisco Law School (in Portuguese: "Faculdade de Direito do Largo de São Francisco") is the oldest law school in Brazil. It was built by Brazilian regent Dom Pedro I on August 11, 1827, it was founded a few years after the proclamation of the Independence of Brazil, the law school was very important for the administration of the Brazilian Empire. The school was rebuilt many times .
Many of Brazilian politicians and famous writers have studied at Largo de São Francisco, such as Castro Alves, Álvares de Azevedo, Fagundes Varela, Rui Barbosa, Monteiro Lobato. Students come from all over the country to study in the São Francisco Law School. The school was ranked many times the as the best Law School in Brazil.
My classmates and I went to visit the law school on the 23rd of August, 2016. It was amazing! We got to see the inside of the school and we also learned about how it was like to go there from the law student's perspective. What I liked the most about the school, was the fact that it was the oldest law school in Brazil. My classmates also liked the architecture of the school, everything about it was antique and beautiful.

  MARTINELLI BUILDING

At the beginning of the last century an Italian immigrant landed in the Port of Rio de Janeiro, their objective was the same as many others who came to America.

This immigrant named Giuseppe Martinelli, was exceptionally successful and in just over two decades had built a respectable heritage.

Eager to leave a more permanent legacy of his work, as well as its important shipping company in Santos, Martinelli decides to lift the city São Paulo the highest building in South America, the Martinelli Building.

MY LAST VACATION

My vacation was ok because I didn´t do many things. I went to the beach, to Serra Negra, to cinema, to my cousin´s house, visited my grandparents and more.
I didn't go to the swimming pool because the weather was very cold.
I wanted to travel to Orlando but my parents were not on vacation, and it was very boring.

I watched all netflix's films. LOL! The best thing was the trip to the beach and to Serra Negra. I didn't know Serra Negra and it was fun.

My last vacation

On my second day of vacation I went to Porto de Galinhas with my sister two cousins, my grandma and 14 other people. We stayed there for a week and we just relaxed, just sleeping, just using our phones and laptops all day. We went to “Ibirapuera Park” twice with my dog. Then on the third week, on Monday three of my cousins came to São Paulo to see the aquarium with their friends. The 13-year-old cousin, stayed with us for 3 days then we took him home, for the rest of the week we prepared for school, buying new material and doing homework, and mainly relaxing. It was sunny during my vacation for the most part, but I wish I went scuba diving. The best thing was that I spent a week with my cousins and neither of my parents.
