São Paulo Field Trip
Sé Cathedral
The Sé catedral is very important and the biggest cathedral in São Paulo. There wasn't anyone speaking English there. There's some important cripts with some important peoplein them. It was a very nice study.
In 1913 it began the construction of the Cathedral as it is today, made by the German Maximilian Emil Hehl,Professor of Architecture at the Polytechnic School. The temple was inaugurated on January 25, 1954,in commemoration of the 4th centenary of the city of São Paulo, still without it's two main towers.
The São Francisco Law School
The São Francisco Law School (in Portuguese: "Faculdade de Direito do Largo de São Francisco") is the oldest law school in Brazil. It was built by Brazilian regent Dom Pedro I on August 11, 1827, it was founded a few years after the proclamation of the Independence of Brazil, the law school was very important for the administration of the Brazilian Empire. The school was rebuilt many times .
Many of Brazilian politicians and famous writers have studied at Largo de São Francisco, such as Castro Alves, Álvares de Azevedo, Fagundes Varela, Rui Barbosa, Monteiro Lobato. Students come from all over the country to study in the São Francisco Law School. The school was ranked many times the as the best Law School in Brazil.
My classmates and I went to visit the law school on the 23rd of August, 2016. It was amazing! We got to see the inside of the school and we also learned about how it was like to go there from the law student's perspective. What I liked the most about the school, was the fact that it was the oldest law school in Brazil. My classmates also liked the architecture of the school, everything about it was antique and beautiful.
