Sé
Cathedral
In 1913 the construction of the Cathedral began, as it is today, by the German Maximilian Emil Hehl. The temple was inaugurated
on January 25, 1954, in celebration of the 4th centenary of the city of São
Paulo, still without the two main towers.
The cathedral is one of the five largest neogothic
temples in the world.
The first version of the church was installed in
1591 when the Tibiriçá chief chose the land where you find the first temple of
the city.
In 1745 the "Old Cathedral", as it was
called, was elevated to cathedral category. So, in the same year, he began the
building of the second matrix of the Cathedral, in the same place as the
previous.
In 1911, the two temples were demolished to make
room for the extension of Cathedral Square and finally to the current version
of the cathedral.
The cathedral also has a crypt open to visitors,
opened in 1919. With thirty mortuaries, it maintains to the present day, the
sarcophagi of bishops and archbishops, and stores the remains of Tibiriçá chief,
the first citizen of Piratininga, and the priest Feijo.
We also find, right in front of Ground Zero. The
small marble monument in hexagonal shape, built in 1934. It brings a map of roads
departing from Sao Paulo in direction of other states.

LADEIRA PORTO GERAL
We visited São Paulo downtown and I will comment on Ladeira
Porto Geral:
Located on a slope that originated it´s name “Ladeira Porto
Geral”, also it now has a lot of stores and some are illegal on the street. In the past, Ladeira Porto Geral was a place like a port where products were negotiated. Now
this place became a popular market where millions of people go to buy all kinds of products.

TEA VIADUCT
It is a very important place because a river passed under it. It also has a monument showing two horses, as the portuguese passed the river by horse and this is one of the most important places of São Paulo.
